Michigan will have campground closures at state parks again in 2025 as it continues its maintenance and improvement projects.
Since you can make camping reservations in Michigan 6 months from your camping date, some folks may already be looking ahead to the next camping season. Keep these closures in mind as you start building your list.
There are 103 state parks in Michigan and many of them allow camping. If the closures affect your favorite spots, maybe you could use our YouTube reviews of all Michigan state parks to find another! Here is our Michigan State Parks playlist. Or, if you already know you want to narrow your search to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, we also have a UP playlist. We also have blog posts for the state parks, including our favorite in the Upper Peninsula: Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park.
